APTIM Field Engineer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Looking for candidate able and willing assemble and execute mechanical work packages for an ongoing maintenance group at Stupp Corp in Baker, LA.
Candidate will work directly with the client on identification and disposition of issues. Must ensure all activities are in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
Safety training and experience required.
Responsible for the development of Construction Work Packages (CWP)
Key role in providing project management support to maintain and progress construction plans and schedules while working within an integrated team environment (Work Breakdown Structure, work management governance and oversight, change management). Responsibility for ensuring assigned projects/programs adhere to client's Planning processes, tools and procedures (e.g.: Passport, Maximo, Cleopatra, P6).
Implement station-level Planning processes for performance of work consistent with standards (e.g. health and safety, quality).
Engage operating experience program learnings relevant to CWP and ITP on assigned projects/programs.
Make recommendations and exert influence as required to the project manager/team for corrective action such that actual performance meets the planned performance.
Bachelor's Degree or Technical Community College Diploma is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a related field.
Ability to coordinate, schedule, and plan tasks within a team environment.
Knowledge of Primavera P6, and Maximo programs
Must have basic knowledge in Project Management methodology and general PMI Standards.
Strong communication skills and problem solving ability.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools.
Excellent organization, planning, time management and project management abilities.
Proven ability to meet deadlines with grace under pressure.
Ability to establish excellent working relationships with both internal and external contacts.
Excellent level of written, verbal and presentation skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively communicate to senior management and external stakeholders
The Field Engineer (work planner) is responsible for organizing, directing, and coordinating maintenance and construction activities at a job site as directed by the client. Because of the specific nature of this assignment experience in the following fields is very desirable:
Reading machine drawings (they may have some of this knowledge already) interpret section details, plans and elevations
Reading Isometric drawings
Bearing and shaft design
Pump and motor installation (they may have some of this knowledge already)
Hoses (hydraulic and pneumatic)
Nuts/Bolts/fasteners (they may have some of this knowledge already)
Belts and chains (sprockets)
Torqueing (they may have some of this knowledge already)
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Cylinders
Create and plan P1/P2/P3 Work Orders in Maximo
Coordinate outside services with specialty vendors
Coordinate with Mechanics/electricians/machinists to troubleshoot maintenance and repairs.
Interface with document controls
Assist maintenance personnel in daily activities
