Job Overview:

APTIM has a Senior Program Manager opportunity in our Concord, California office to support our state-wide environmental operation as a leader in the Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) business line. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the development and management of all phases of various environmental programs. Manage client portfolios in excess of $5,000,000 and that encompass a variety of challenging scopes that include site assessments and remediation, risk assessments, vapor intrusion studies, waste characterization studies and sustainability projects. The Senior Program Manager will manage personnel across and provide key input to senior management on growth planning and resource management across California. The successful candidate will have a strong sales and business acumen with a track record of successfully identifying new sources of revenue, driving client accounts to greater profitability, and creating the development of new business within the business line and adjacent core markets that APTIM serves.

This role will involve direct engagement with Federal and state agencies, municipalities, and cooperatives, to cross-sell established APTIM services across the enterprise. This role will be incentivized for developing relationships and winning projects to grow APTIM's business.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Perform as a seller-doer directly affecting the revenue, profitability, cash flow, and repeat business of the company by successfully delivering quality products and services to develop and maintain long-lasting and meaningful relationships with clients, as well as industry teaming partners

  • Contribute actively to the Environment and Energy Leadership Team that supports the development of the SAR business line strategy.

  • Manage existing State-wide environmental compliance programs for various retail and telecommunication clients

  • Communicate effectively with new or existing clients to build relationships and provide for additional work opportunities

  • Organizes and contributes to business development activities; serve as a key account manager

  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors; may manage business support, technical or production staff

  • Provides technical guidance to employees

  • Serve as a leader in the environmental/sustainability consulting industry and maintain an appropriate network

  • Responsible for the oversight of all phases of planning and execution of projects, including pre-bid and proposal preparation, contract and subcontractor management, staff oversight, QA/QC, adherence to health and safety requirement, and project financials

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree required in Engineering, Geology or an applied science, MS preferred

  • 15+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years of project management and sales experience

  • Track record of driving growth in our core environmental, energy solutions and/or sustainability markets.

  • Strong network in the environmental/energy/sustainability network.

  • Has accountability for managing financial resources

  • Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines

  • Well versed in State and Federal environmental guidelines

  • Ability to successfully lead and coordinate a multi-disciplined team of professionals

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Well versed in Microsoft products to effectively manage time, schedule, and activity completion specifically, Excel, Project, and Word. Knowledge of database and GIS programs a plus.

  • Remote (home-based), however candidate should be local to San Francisco Bay, Sacramento Areas or Irvine, Los Angeles and its surrounding counties

  • Willingness to travel as required, 50%.

  • Professional Registration is preferred (P.E., P.G.)
