APTIM Electrical Technician in Findlay, Ohio

Job Summary:

Successful candidate will perform a wide variety of electrical tasks including mounting panels to skids, running conduit and wire to panels and instrumentation on skids. Must be familiar with 480v, 120v and 24v power and control systems. Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools. 2 years and above documented field experience in electrical discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions as well as be able to document, plan and perform work activities independently. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints ensuring that wiring is installed before completion of closed areas.

  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders.

  • Pulls wiring through conduit.

  • Connect wiring to equipment using hand tools.

  • Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fasten in place.

  • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.

  • Observe function of installed equipment or system to determine adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

  • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.

  • Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment and supplies.

  • Maintain tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

  • Works well under immediate supervision.

  • 2 or more years of experience as an industrial electrician.

  • Familiar with NEC and NFPA 70 E Codes.

  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.

Shop schedule is: works four 10 hour shifts per week, Mon-Thurs. 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
