APTIM Disaster Assessor in Guaynabo, United States
APTIM is seeking Disaster Assessment Estimator/Inspectors to be responsible for completing scope of work and damage assessment of homeowners. They will maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies, requirements, and evaluating protocols.
Inspect property damage to determine extent of damages.
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
Attend site walks.
Attends pre-estimate meetings with project managers and business line management to plan bid strategy and ascertaining methods of performance based on the scope of work.
Prepare detailed estimates in accordance with the scope of work, performing quantity take-offs, determining manpower, equipment requirements, material items and subcontractors.
Examine photographs and statements.
A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Two (2) or more years of large-scale project experience, contributing at an operational, estimator or adjuster level.
Construction estimating experience in the field of residential rehabilitation and new construction and/or insurance adjusting experience.
Must have a valid driver's license and transportation
Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently, and effective interpersonal skills.
Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills; knowledge of creating tables and graphs in
Microsoft Excel; ability to quickly learn new software applications.
Experience with CDBG housing and/or FEMA hazard mitigation and similar programs/projects is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with Xactimate software and/or CAD skills preferred
