APTIM Project Coordinator in Houston, Texas

Job Overview:

The Project Coordinator will provide support Texas Hurricane and Flooding Recovery Efforts.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Assist with data analysis and report development to manage day-to-day project operations

  • Review application data and conduct QC reviews to ensure proper grant calculations and/or eligibility determination

  • Maintains consistent verbal and written communication with homeowners, business owners and/or contractors.

  • Assists with policy and procedure monitoring and development, provide policy guidance, as required, and adhere to program requirements.

  • Document daily activities and communications using multiple software platforms.

  • Reviews draw requests, construction invoices and processes payments based on program policies and procedures.

  • Assist with outreach efforts, training, and any compliance oversight requirements, working in a highly dynamic and fast-paced work setting.

  • Perform internal audits on incoming documentation and recordkeeping.

  • Possible participation in site visits, issue tracking, and monitoring of project activities at various stages.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in relative field desired, but professional experience may be considered.

  • 2-10 years of relevant experience required.

  • Must have technical/professional background in planning or public administration, QA/QC, project/business management, engineering, architecture, construction management or similar fields.

  • Ability to acquire a working knowledge of applicable rules and regulations and the ability to provide technical assistance.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel.

  • Effective oral, listening, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and complete work assignments independently with minimal supervision/guidance.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Data entry experience.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.

  • Availability to work weekends as required.

  • Possess valid driver's license.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual applicants will be strongly considered and are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience with CDBG/HUD programs, FEMA, and/or other Disaster Recovery programs is strongly desired.

  • Knowledge of SharePoint and/or Microsoft Dynamics would be beneficial (although not required)

Other Details:

  • Occasional to frequent in-state travel may be required.

  • Under Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, additional preference will be given to Section 3 residents in the Houston area who meet the requirements of this position.
