APTIM Project Manager in Houston, Texas

Job Overview:

APTIM is seeking a highly experienced and talented Project Manager to join an existing project team that is managing a housing recovery program in Texas for a governmental agency client.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and report on project activities at various stages and identify areas for continued process improvement.

  • Provide project management oversight, including client relationships, managing program scope, schedule, budget, deliverables for single family moderate rehabilitations, small commercial infrastructure, as well as home elevations.

  • Develops relationships with key internal/external customers to identify emerging needs

  • Documents daily activities and communications using multiple software platforms.

  • Assist with developing policies and procedures and other written materials, as needed

  • Lead or support developing and presenting training materials

  • Facilitate and/or coordinate resolutions to questions or other operational issues

  • Review RFI's, Submittals and Change Orders

  • Participate in project meetings and planning sessions

  • Serve as a liaison with client, staff and project management teams

  • Track close-out issues

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive responsible experience on a Project Management or Construction Management team

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)

  • Strong data, reporting and financial analysis skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated success in problem solving and delivering innovative solutions

  • Interacts well in a dynamic, office team environment

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Economic Development, Public Administration, CDBG/HUD programs, FEMA, and/or other Disaster Recovery programs is strongly desired.

  • Residential and/or vertical construction experience, including single-family, multi-family, high-rise residential or commercial buildings

  • Certified CCM or PMP and/or Texas PE license

  • Primavera P6 or MS Project, and/or Contract Manager proficiency

  • Bilingual applicants will be strongly considered and are encouraged to apply.

  • Knowledge of SharePoint and/or Microsoft Dynamics would be beneficial (although not required)

Other Details:

  • This individual will report to the project's Construction Lead and work collaboratively with other project staff and contractor teams.

  • Occasional to frequent in-state travel may be required.

  • Under Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, additional preference will be given to Section 3 residents in the Houston area who meet the requirements of this position.
