APTIM Structural Engineer in Mobile, Alabama
APTIM is searching for a candidate located in Mobile, Alabama area for a Civil-Structural Engineer (EIT). These tasks may include: performs a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects, design of port related structures, and other technical activities to arrive at the most cost effective, reliable technical solution.
Work on general structural engineering projects, with an emphasis on steel and concrete structures. Engineering Reports, drawings and specifications are often a work product.
Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering, performing calculations and modeling utilization structural software packages
Perform detailed technical analysis of complex project issues.
Monitor applicable regulatory requirements and stays abreast of regulatory trends.
Arrive at sound and prudent decisions, course of action or a conclusion, especially when only limited facts are available. Solve problems quickly.
May serve as project manager on technical projects (investigation, analysis and design) in specific areas of expertise. Ability to serve as technical manager on projects and small programs.
Assists Draftsmen/Designers in producing engineering drawings.
Work activities include field investigations and structural condition assessment. Engineering Reports are often a work product.
Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
0-5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in steel or concrete design is a plus.
Experience in finite element analysis is a plus.
Has obtained Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
Eligible to obtain TWIC card.
Ability to travel up to 25% with some international travel expected.
