APTIM Client Program Manager in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Overview:

Lead the Pittsburg office by providing senior leadership and mentoring to local staff. Interact with clients and identify and develop new work for the office. Development and management of all phases of environmental programs and project activities that range from small to large in value and a variety of scopes that include engineering, applied sciences such as geology or biology, operations/personnel management, and sales. Directs preparation of work plans, supervises project teams, and manages project scope, budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Functions as seller-doer directly affecting the revenue, profitability, cash flow, and repeat business of the company through the ability to develop client relationships and lead associate teams in successfully delivering a quality product or service to the client.

  • Organizes and contributes to business development activities; may serve as a key account manager.

  • Leadership role with office staff. Utilization on projects, Developing new work

  • Regularly sells across geographic regions.

  • Represents the company to client and maintains client relationship, often solving complex problems with innovative solutions. Oriented to winning long term relationships by building trust and value.

  • Utilizes a combination of project management, technical, business management, and business development skills to develop and execute business with a targeted list of commercial, state and local, or federal clients with goals for revenue, cash management, and direct margin, and achieving client satisfaction/repeat business.

  • Responsible for the oversight all phases of planning and execution one of projects as defined by of variable, complexity, manpower requirements and /or contract value.

  • Establishes and monitors project safety and quality programs.

  • Represents the company to client and maintains client relationship.

  • Manages a group of senior professionals, monitoring scope, schedule and fiscal performance.

  • Manages the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching

  • Lead APTIM's EH&S Auditing Service Line;

  • Supplement our existing group of Senior EH&S Auditors with recurring and one-off audit projects;

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for auditing, permitting, planning, water quality and wastewater opportunities;

  • Lead proposal preparation for commercial auditing, planning and permitting projects;

  • Expand our auditing, permitting and planning services with existing clients nationwide;

  • Standardize processes for developing high quality audit protocols;

  • Develop and launch an auditor training program; and

  • Mentor mid-level audit staff and build a bench of nationwide auditors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Science degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting.

  • Licensing as a PG, PE or other license recognized in the environmental industry

  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors; may manage business support, technical or production staff.

  • Has accountability for managing financial resources.

  • Provides technical guidance to employees.

  • Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies.

  • Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines.
