APTIM Sr. Environmental/Civil Professional Project Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Remote work is an option BUT candidate must be local to Pittsburgh, PA

Job Overview:

APTIM is a full-service multidiscipline environmental and engineering consulting firm seeking a Senior Project Engineer (seller-doer) to manage/oversee civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering projects in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. The qualified candidate will be involved in a variety of activities including business development, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and providing technical leadership and project/program execution oversight. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and detail oriented, with demonstrated experience in design, permitting, reporting, construction certification, compliance review, and consultation regarding compliance issues, including that related to clients within the power, industrial & manufacturing, oil/gas/chemical, retail, solid waste, and state/local sectors.

This position has potential for a sign on bonus.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with current engineering staff in interpretation of engineering data, development of design documents and specifications, performing detailed engineering analyses, and performing calculations and modeling utilizing software packages.

  • Assist civil QA/QC staff during oversight of on-site construction activities.

  • Function as seller-doer directly affecting the revenue, profitability, cash flow, and repeat business of APTIM through the ability to develop client relationships and lead associate teams in successfully delivering a quality product or service to the client.

  • Prepare client proposals and presentations.

  • Develop and maintain long-lasting and meaningful relationships with clients, as well as industry teaming partners.

  • Directly responsible for an annual sales goal.

  • Monitor applicable regulatory requirements and stay abreast of regulatory trends.

  • Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.

  • Travel as needed based upon project needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15+ years' work experience in the field of civil, environmental, and/or geotechnical engineering.

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.

  • Active Professional Engineer licensure in PA (additional WV, NY and/or NJ P.E. licensure a plus)

  • Current in HAZWOPER Health & Safety Training

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, as well as HydroCAD, slope stability, and other engineering software programs

  • Proficiency in civil, environmental and geotechnical design.

  • Experience in preparation of erosion and sediment control plans, post-construction stormwater management plans, site restoration plans, and associated permit applications under NPDES and other relevant programs.

  • Experience in developing grading plans, design documents and specifications, including water, sewer and utility design aspects.

  • Experience in plan development including PPC, SPCC, SWPPP, FRPs, and EERPs

  • Experience in design of stormwater management facilities, liner systems for solid waste and residual waste disposal and storage areas, and geosynthetic liner systems for containment systems.

  • Experience in NPDES and WQM permitting.

  • Experience in preparation of waterway and wetlands obstruction and encroachment permit applications.

  • Experience in geotechnical engineering projects, including foundation design, engineering and slope stability.

  • Experience in HydroCAD and AutoCAD.
