Job Overview:
APTIM is seeking an energetic and motivated Technical Editor Intern. This intern will provide document formatting, editing, and page layout for proposals, technical publications (e.g., reports, correspondence, specifications), marketing documents, and presentations based on established templates and branding for company. APTIM's internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply skills gained in an academic setting to challenging projects and meaningful work assignments under the Remedial and Technical Solutions business unit. Interns will be paired with experienced mentors through the THRIVE mentorship program and should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, finishing their internship having gained a broad experience in various aspects of Technical Editing.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Adjusts settings for format, page layout, line spacing, and other style requirements in pre-established company templates
Demonstrates ability to layout/format 10 pages per hour
Checks completed work for spelling and format
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Works under immediate supervision
Checks completed work for format and incorporation of requested changes
Collates pages of reports and other documents as required
Electronically sorts and compiles text and numerical data, retrieving, updating, and merging documents as required
Files, stores, and maintains documents on company server
Gathers and assembles materials to be formatted, following instructions from supervisor and customers
Prints and makes copies of work and/or coordinates with reprographics
Basic Qualifications:
Attending an accredited educational institution
Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA with at least 60 hours of coursework completed
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have experience with MS Office software, including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
Excellent and clear communication
Team player who is deadline driven, works well with others, and is flexible in terms of work hours
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills
Must be a self-starter, excel in time management, and work well under pressure
Must be available to work in various settings such as in office or remotely, depending on department needs
Additional Minimum Required Qualifications:
Ability to work shifts of at least 8 hours, and occasionally longer, 5 days per week
Ability to sit for prolonged periods
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work in office environment
Ability to receive and understand directions from supervision and management
